Tonight’s inspiration: Hamilton wailing like his life depended on it. So great seeing The Walkmen back at Bowery Ballroom.

Jack White’s solo album Blunderbuss is out today. Go get it, y’all. Better yet: get it on vinyl.

There’s more to Puerto Rico than beach resorts. Get a jeep and explore the island. Random roadside cafe in Orocovis.

“Love Interruption” is the first taste of Jack White’s forthcoming debut album, Blunderbuss, out April 24 on Third Man Records/Columbia. That is all.
This Black Keys Radio Flyer inspired poster was made by DKNG, the LA-based design crew. They do great work, and are also (awesomely) the resident poster artists for the world famous Troubadour in Hollywood. What a great gig.

Most definitely making my way to LA…
Patti Smith outside of CBGB’s, at the corner of Bowery and Bleecker, 1976. This picture is everything to me.

I ran into Blondie a few weeks ago! The Bowery has changed so much, I’d kind of forgotten she was also once a denizen of skid row. Above, Blondie performing at CBGB’s in 1977. Below, me on the day of the landmark’s final farewell in 2006 – the end of an era. Ensembles purely coincidental.

Is there anything more beautiful than a young Mick Jagger? Iconic shots by David Bailey…

Things you find in your old bedroom desk back in the ‘burbs: HOLE CASSETTE TAPE!! Friends and colleagues have been talkin’ a lot about “Live Through This” lately. I was 13 when it came out. A million memories + it still holds up…

Between “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “Before Sunrise,” I am crushing on THE HARPSICHORD lately. In both films, the harpsichord sounds the turning point and longing in a precious relationship. Seriously underrated instrument alert!! It’s a beaut, too.
