Whenever I’m in town on the weekends, I swing through Partners & Spade. Located on Great Jones Street, around the corner from my place, the space functions as a storefront – and gallery of sorts – for creative masterminds Andy Spade and partner Anthony Sperduti.

They showcase art and oddball finds that both amuse and inspire. Their Found Objects are quirky, thoughtful, ever-changing. And the artists-in-resident are consistently among my faves, including Miranda July, PAPER Magazine’s Kim Hastreiter, and Artist/Baker Will Cotton (no painter as talented as he should be able to make a macaron so sublime).

I have a ritual of opening every drawer and discovering what’s new. This weekend, there were Snacks (pistachios), Fish (preserved fish), and the requisite drawer of dirt. Next time, I’d like to see one full of gummyworms.

There’s tons written about Andy, but should you require visual proof of his artistic prowess, simply behold his Hamptons manor. Heart you Spade!
